Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Engineering Co-op, Assembly opening to join our Engineering organization.
Day to Day:
The Engineering Co-op role has primary responsibility for: Assembly Operations experience in our 29” Dryer Platform
Department Overview:
- Fast paced, 3 assembly lines; three shift operation
- Lean-driven assembly process
- Flexible work crews producing high efficiency dryers
To produce the best quality and cost dryers, while continuing to improve our safety and delivery rates on a daily basis. Continue to drive implementation of lean process improvements on production assembly lines and maintaining positive hourly employee engagement and morale. Provides project leadership on lean implementation & improvement for assembly operations
Assist with day-to-day engineering accountabilities on multiple dryer assembly lines so daily SQDC targets (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Lean) are met/ exceeded.
Build and sustain effective relationships with hourly employees and cross-functional teams (e.g. from engineering and support operations).
What you will do:
- Implement lean process improvements for designated assembly line(s) through standardized work and lean tools
- Execute projects to aggressively improve First Pass Yield (FPY) and Assembly Yield targets
- 1:1 Problem-solving
- Assist with new product launches
What you Need to Succeed:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar degree preferred.
- Requirements: GPA of 3.0 or above
- Abilities for the Role: Preference for hands-on experience on the production floor, excellent communication and planning skills, critical thinking and problem solving, capable to multi-task and prioritize, willingness to work different shift schedules, ability to work with all levels of the organization.
