Position Summary:

 

The Innovation Marketing Manager is the active lead across the organization for all the Corby’s innovation activities. The incumbent will build and develop Innovation at Corby as a center of excellence both internally and externally.

 

To achieve the organization’s vision as the industry’s innovation leader, the Innovation Marketing Manager will lead & continuously develop Corby’s innovation pipeline through the creation and execution of inspired, meaningful and differentiated propositions founded in consumer insights.   As such, the focus of activities would include but not be limited to ideation, brainstorming, concept development, driving projects through the formal innovation process, the management and communication of new product initiatives, driving best practices and post-launch monitoring,

 

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

 

• Generate ideas for new products within the Corby portfolio, for priority brands, through the identification of future growth opportunities, analysis of key trends, category audits and creative brainstorming.  Responsible for building and maintaining a 5 year innovation pipeline and aligning the organization against this

• Screen new ideas and build robust business case analysis for top ideas identified.

• Lead the concept / new product development stage working with the Corby brand teams, New to Market, Sales and R&D teams.

• Manage the Innovation process via monitoring, reporting, and communicating across the organization; drive consistency and alignment while improving communication to the Corby Execom on innovation initiatives

• Build and implement a set of innovation metrics for the monitoring and evaluation of new initiatives post-launch, utilizing tools to assess performance

• Lead/participate in special projects as required, including those affecting the overall organization, the entire portfolio, or specific brands

Ability to define and develop brand & category strategy (brand architecture, pricing, distribution strategy) in line with brand compass & business objectives

 

Brand Communication:

Ability to develop global communication campaign (digital, ATL development, PR) and provide relevant brand content and supports

 

Brand Activation:

Ability to develop global promotional guidelines, themes and tools for markets consistent with brand strategy and objectives

 

Consumer Insights:

Ability to develop an intimate understanding of consumer & shopper behaviors, to identity insights and trends, in order to capture sources of business in line with business objectives and brand strategy

 

Innovation:

Ability to identify consumer insights, business & other technical opportunities (R&D, innovations at suppliers); define innovation strategies and concepts, to transform them into initiatives and to achieve their implementation

 

Creativity:

Ability to generate, inspire and explore new and relevant ideas by thinking out-of-the-box, finding imaginative solutions and fostering a creative spirit within both the organization and external partners

 

Analytical skills:

Ability to identify all appropriate information, break elements down, determine cause and effect relationships to make effective recommendations

 

Project Management:

Ability to plan and organize complex and diverse tasks in a comprehensive / transversal project, managing and maximizing performance of project teams (internal & external)

 

Business Acumen:

Ability to view the business from a holistic perspective, understand its financial and operational underpinnings and what it takes to make it profitable

 

Relationship Building:

Ability to build quality and trusting relationships, to gain credibility at all relevant levels of the organization and with external partners/stakeholders through strong interpersonal skills, integrity, influencing skills and delivery

 

Education & Experience:

 

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing

• Minimum 7 years business/marketing experience, with 5+ years of brand management experience in wines and spirits

• At least 3 years previous experience with developing and launching new products
