Summary Statement:
Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, performs all the activities of the Human Resources Department including coordination of employee relations, hiring, affirmative action, EEOC compliance, employee assistance and plant litigation. Provides Human Resources services to all functions in the plant by serving as a consultant to plant management and employees. Assumes the Human Resources Manager’s responsibilities during any absence.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Advise the Human Resources Manager and Steering Team of Human Resources issues that have an impact on the business.
- Assist with the administration of employee relations programs to foster a union free employee empowered workforce.
- Foster positive employee relations for assigned Business Unit.
- Promote QCDSM as a management system through training, implementation and practice.
- Interpret, communicate and administer new and revised Human Resource policies, practices and procedures to ensure consistency and fairness. Provide a timely vehicle for issue resolution.
- Develop and conduct management training for policies, procedures, VLDPs, etc.
- Provide advice and counsel to management, non-exempt employees and associates.
- Coordinate recruiting for management, non-exempt employees and associates. Ensure proper procedures are in place related to screening, hiring and employee orientation.
- Maintain and apply an understanding of governmental regulations that apply to the administration of Human Resources programs to ensure compliance and risk assessment.
- Maintain strong customer service relationships with all functional departments.
- Administer and coordinate compensation programs such as wages, workers compensation, and unemployment and short-term disability.
- Assist in coordination of performance management system that includes Incumbent Review, Promotions, Transfers, Outplacements and VLDP administration.
- Conduct location salary, wage and benefit administration.
- Coordinate disciplinary administration.
- Ensure compliance of KSRMP and Safety and Environmental guidelines.
- Special projects as assigned by the Human Resources Manager.
- Know, understand, enforce and comply with Kraft Food’s Environmental Policy.
- Reduce Kraft’s Environmental footprint.
Organizational Relationships:
- Bachelor's degree required in Industrial Relations, Business Administration or related field, Masters Preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years prior work in Human Resource Administration is required.
- Union free work related experience is desired.
