Position: Actuarial Associate
The Actuarial Associate is responsible for the technical development of tools required for actuarial support of annuity product initiatives and ongoing management of current annuity product portfolio, with a focus on illustration support and administration system test results. It is expected that this person will be recognized within the organization as a technical product expert.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop calculation requirements for inforce product initiatives and for illustrations for new products, features, and revisions to existing products.
- Assist in the enhancement and programming of actuarial test tools to be used to validate illustration changes, both for new business and for inforce illustrations.
- Assist in the enhancement and programming of actuarial test tools needed to test the administration platforms for annuities and living benefit guarantees.
- Develop automated alternatives to manual illustration & administration testing processes, including regression testing alternatives.
- Provide on-going detailed knowledge and problem resolution within Product and to business partners across the organization.
- Provide actuarial support for product inquiries as needed.
Job Requirements
- 3-6 years relevant experience
- Bachelors degree
- ASA preferred, but not required
- Programming skills – VBA (Excel and Access)
- Proven success in implementing product development projects that deliver results to meet business goals.
- Knowledge of financial services products and industry.
- Excellent technical financial services product knowledge.
- Excellent ability to demonstrate & communicate technical aspects of product initiatives.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple levels within the internal organization.
- Strength of convictions and ability to influence and champion product changes
- Ability to effectively manage several dissimilar projects and prioritize.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
