Associate Investigator-Public Health Research
North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System
We are looking to hire an Associate Investigator for an infectious disease physician who will work 75% of their time on research activities. We would prefer for the research to be on patient outcomes/health service/public health research.
In the role of Associate Investigator, you will perform investigative research in the particular area(s) of study and publish and present data in a timely manner. You will work collaboratively with other Investigators and Scientists in facilitating scientific research, as well as, participate in various types of institute and community activities.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Conducts independent research and/or development work.
- Applies for grant funding and/or patents as appropriate.
- Responsible for the collection and analysis of research data.
- Submits manuscripts and abstracts for publication/presentation.
- Performs a variety of tasks, including but not limited to, correspondence, attending meetings, database maintenance, maintaining records, charts, etc.
- Responsible for all other activities, clinical and administrative, as appropriate.
- Supervises research staff and provides technical direction to research staff.
- Doctorate (M.D. or Ph.D.) Degree, required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of related experience, required.
- Authored/co-authored published articles and/or abstracts as determined by the Appointments and Promotions Committee of the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, required.
- National recognition within area of expertise.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
