Architecture Specialist

Assists senior staff in the development and maintenance of a business and system architecture for firm wide operations. Participates in system architecture studies of new and existing data processing systems to permit development of integrated corporate, distributed and client server business systems which operate at low cost levels. Recommends the appropriate computer platform, work stations and communication linkage required to support specific related business processes and information flows. Assists in the analysis and recommendation of new or different technologies which will enhance current systems and support overall corporate and business goals. Provides technical support to client and DP management to ensure development of efficient application systems utilizing established standards, procedures and methodologies. Performs related duties as assigned or requested.

 

The candidate will work closely with business partners to resolve issues, craft processes for Tier 1 and Tier 2 support groups to follow, partner with other technology groups to perform upgrades, and resolve. Responsibilities include the following:

 

Must have the ability to understand and relate product technology, strategy and direction with business needs. Must be able to work well in a team environment providing leadership in areas of expertise. Must be able to manage multiple systems environments such as development, testing, and production environments. Candidates will be interviewed for potential in all areas of responsibility described. The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

 

  • 2+ years technical knowledge of VMware View, vCenter, ESXi, and related virtualization technologies.
  • Experience managing/supporting a production VMware View & Virtual Center environment.
  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows technologies, Active Directory, SCCM, DHCP, App-V, and Windows Server Operating Systems.
  • Knowledge of Windows scripting and database technologies.
  • Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be a self-starter and excel when working in a team environment.
  • 7+ years experience in information systems.
  • Excellent technical documentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of both Macintosh and Windows platforms.
  • Experience with the Casper Suite JAMF Software Server a plus.
