The Behavioral Medical Director is an administrator role and is responsible for ensuring delivery of cost effective quality care that incorporates recovery, resiliency and person centered services.
- Responsible for Level of Care guidelines and utilization management protocols.
- Oversight and management with the Clinical Program Manager all utilization review, management and care coordination activities.
- Providing clinical oversight to the clinical staff, oversee inpatient hospitalizations; and keep current regarding prevalent treatment protocols and philosophies including those that address consumer cultural preferences.
- Maintaining the clinical integrity of the program, including concurrent reviews of inpatient and rehabilitation services; providing oversight to utilization management and quality staff; providing consultation to providers and other community based clinicians, including general practitioners.
Responsibilities include:
Must have an active un-restricted Pennsylvania License strongly preferred or must be willing to aquire
Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy
Board Certification in Adult Psychiatry is required; Child & Adolescent and/or Addiction Medicine is an asset
5 years post-residency experience required
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of psychiatric diagnosis and treatment
Knowledge of substance abuse treatment an asset
Prior managed care experience a plus
