Software Engineer: Android
This role is for a unique and talented technical leader in the Mobility Solutions engineering team responsible for a number of activities required to plan, develop, test, and launch cross-platform mobility solutions including development and deployment of proof of concepts (POCs) and key development projects for the Software Group; working with internal and external development and test partners and software demonstrations.
The Mobility Solutions Development Lead is responsible for the following types of tasks:
- Architects, designs and prototypes complex mobile applications; determines solution requirements and functional/technical specifications to ensure that client specifications are met.
- Responsible for performing complex analysis, design, programming and unit testing of mobile application.
- Maintain and evolve software architecture documents based on evolving/emergent requirements and industry trends and technologies.
- Analyze risk and report problems in meeting application requirements.
- Should be comfortable working with development teams, in the US and in India.
- Experienced with working in Agile projects and Agile Software Development methodology.
- Provide guidance and support to mobile application testing.
Requirements
The position requires strong technical, creative and leadership skills in Android. The candidate should be a mobile geek and have at least 3-4 years of experience with the Android platform:
- Strong technical and creative skills as well as thorough understanding of Android operating system.
- Mobile software engineering technologies and techniques including: Android SDK and Java.
- HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3 and mobile web applications.
- Developing software Android 2.x, 3.x and/or 4.x for android phones and tablets, demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Android internals and working with Android devices.
