Principal Architect Consultant-Remote

 

The Principal Architect is part of the Global Solutions Design Center (GSDC) dedicated to the Federal business unit.  This role will be responsible for the design, cost, and risk management of complex solutions for IT infrastructure outsourcing and managed services sales engagements related to Service Desk, End User Computing, Data Center, and Network managed services.  The Principal Architect will lead and manage the solution design project team on individual opportunities but will not have Human Resources people management responsibility.

 

Travel is estimated at 25 to 35%, as this is a client facing role.

  

Role Responsibilities:

 

-Supports the sales-maker and account executives in selling and closing large complex global service engagements

-Demonstrate a generalist level with broad understanding of the end-to-end IT Infrastructure services portfolio and demonstrates expert understanding of services P&L and cash flow development and business impact.

-Constructing complex service provider solutions in the IT services provider market.

-Leads Technical Architects and Subject Matter Expert on individual sales engagements to construct and support the selling of large services deals 

-Leads customer presentations at the senior management/executive level 

-Effectively articulate value propositions associated with Dell's product/service offerings

-Assess operational risk, cause and effect on profitability for the largest sales opportunities

-Assessing service delivery cost driver attributes of complex services

-Construct, tailor, and negotiate service contract SOWs for both customer engagement and partner provisioning for the largest sales opportunities

-Position cost effective and practical alternatives for the customer by bundling products/service "solutions" to maximize Dell's opportunity while meeting customer's needs

-Conduct Discovery and Due Diligence of Customer environment and develop customer service and cost baseline

-Skillfully negotiates with others to achieve desired results/meet customer needs

-Assists GSDC Leadership in establishing operational plans and processes for the group

-Coaches/Mentors others in closing complex deals

Requirements:

-8+ years relevant experience with Master's Degree (+5 years in Federal)

-10+ years relevant experience with Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent (+5 years in Federal)

- 5+ years managerial/leadership experience.

-In depth Project and Program management experience on IT outsourcing and managed services contracts for infrastructure management, 10+ years preferred

-In depth experience in creating and managing the development of infrastructure outsourcing solutions and SOW’s, 10+ years preferred

-Demonstrated and proven Consultative Selling, Communications, Presentation, Business/Financial Acumen, and Negotiations skills, 10+ years preferred

-Strong command of Microsoft Office suite

-Expert understanding of services P&L and cash flow development and business impact

-In-depth knowledge of assessing operational risk cause and effect on profitability for the largest sales opportunities

-In-depth experience in conducting Due Diligence and Customer baseline

-Demonstrated ability to construct and drive organizational strategies and process improvements

-Clear understanding of Federal Government contracting and accounting

-In-depth experience in Business Development within the Federal Government

-Understanding of various Federal Government regulations, processes, certifications, etc.

-Strong verbal and writing communications skills
