Dell has acquired StatSoft, a leading provider of advanced analytics solutions that deliver a wide range of data mining, predictive analytics, and data visualization capabilities. StatSoft provides a complementary solution to Dell’s existing portfolio of database management, data integration, data replication, and analytic offerings to create a stronger information management portfolio that specifically addresses predictive analysis.
Role Responsibilities
-Design and development activities associated with software using a range of applicable technologies (e.g., programming languages, compilers, debuggers, project management, and other tools) for products used in local, networked or cloud/web-enterprise computing environments
-Analyze requirements and develop innovative, useful software
-Maintain and modify existing software products to add new functions, adapt to new hardware, improve performance or enhance product usability
-Participate in product development in all stages from planning and design to development and testing.
-Complete documentation and assist with creation of test plans and user documentation, following industry best practices and SOP’s
-Assist training with production of formal training material for sales/marketing
Requirements
-6+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
-Solid knowledge of programming languages C++, C#; knowledge of other programming languages desirable
-Able to code/debug more complex programs using written design specifications
-Able to understand and convert technical papers describing statistical methods and approaches into useful algorithms to support analytic solutions
Preferences
-Experience or training in the application of numerical or statistical analysis methods, engineering statistics, process control and quality control, or predictive modeling or data mining applications
-Knowledge of databases, operating systems, and application administration tools and utilities including MS Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server
-Able to achieve mastery of new tools and languages with training and on-the-job experience
-Able to understand and follow software lifecycle methods
-Understands tradeoffs between hardware and software interactions
-Able to learn new operating systems with training and on-the-job experience
-Experience/Knowledge with legacy programming languages a plus
