Storage System Software Expert Engineer

As a subject matter expert in
Storage Management architectures, contributes to building storage management
infrastructure and solutions.

Effectively collaborates, builds relationships and influences team members to
work towards common goals.

Leads evaluation of "owned" technologies driven from divisional
technology strategies and recommends choice points that best match program
objectives.
·
Provide solid technical backing and confidence for the entire team
·
Identify and drive future technology adoptions in the area and drive the
evolution and implementation of new product ideas
·
Drive innovation within the domain
·
Provide technical inputs and participate in checkpoint reviews
·
Evangelizes best practices across peers and nearby project teams.
·
Understands the financial justification of investing in a technology.
·
Provide domain expertise in storage virtualization to other projects
·
Provide oversight and consultancy on design issues, performance related
activities, complex bug fixes, critical escalations investigations etc.
·
Study state of the art and competition in storage virtualization and storage
management automation domain
·
Provide Mentoring and coaching for senior technical members in the team
·
Working with a product management team, provide technical inputs towards
Product Strategy and Roadmap throughout the lifecycle.
Ø Strong Technical
knowledge in manageability applications and good understanding of product
lifecycle.
Ø Strong design and
development experience in Storage technologies
Ø Good understanding of
NAS architecture with experience in NAS protocols like CIFS, NFS, HTTP, FTP.
Ø Excellent programming
skills and passion to work with C, C++/.NET, Java and Perl/Python
Ø Excellent debugging and
troubleshooting skills. Working knowledge on Linux and Windows
environments, preferable
Ø The candidate will
need to work with counterparts at the level of Master / Distinguished Technologists
and hence ability to work with senior technologists is essential
Ø Flexibility in accepting
new or additional tasks and action items in related domains
Education and Experience Required:
9-14 years in product R&D of computer/ system software. Bachelors degree in engineering preferably in computer science or computer engineering or electronics/ electrical engineering. Masters/ PHD in relevant domain preferable
