Non SET Surgical Registrars - Expressions Of Interest - June 2015

Auckland District Health Board

Still looking for a Job in 2015 - Come to Auckland in June!

If you meet the above requirements, we are keen to hear from you! Here in Auckland we are expecting opportunities for Non Set Registrars to open up from June 2015. Due to this, we are now accepting expressions of interest from House Officers or Registrars who are keen to work in Auckland in Surgery.

Working as a Non SET Surgical Registrar

By joining the Auckland Region as a Non SET Surgical Registrar, you enter a programme with rotations through world renowned teaching hospitals: North Shore, Waitakere, Auckland City, Starship Children’s and Middlemore. All Auckland region hospitals are located within a 25 kilometre radius of each other.  Come and experience our diverse demographic population and a variety of presentations and pathologies.

Auckland regional hospitals boast world-renown facilities and surgical teams. The full range of surgical specialties are covered, including those not found elsewhere in New Zealand. Many regional and national (as well as international) units are based here. These services also cover the entire age-spectrum from neonates to the elderly.

The Surgical Registrar position you are applying for is a ‘non-training’ position in the Aucklandregion. Although not formally part of the training programme for sub-specialties (which is administered by the Australasian College of Surgeons (www.surgeons.org), these positions represent the normal progression towards training in a sub-specialty.

These positions represent unique training opportunities to acquire skills, experience a variety of subspecialties unavailable anywhere else, as well as an opportunity to work alongside many influential members of the various surgical subspecialties. A single application gains access to all of the surgical hospitals in the Auckland region.

Runs

Registrar runs in the Auckland region can be 6 months in length, following which you may rotate into a different run. Example run descriptions for the 2014 training year can be viewed here and selecting Surgery and Surgical Specialties. You will be able to access the full range of runs across the Auckland region.
