Job Title: Assistant Head Office Accountant

 

Department/ Business Area: Finance

 

Location: Aldersgate, London

 

Role overview: Work with the Group Finance Team and in particular the other Head Office Accountants to achieve effective Budgeting, Accounting, Control and Reporting of Head Office Activities and to support other Group Finance Activities.

 

Key Tasks:

 • Use of SAP to maintain general ledger for 2 legal entities, covering multiple Head Office cost centres
• Preparation of journals to correct mis-postings between accounts or cost centres
• Preparation of journals to post incoming and outgoing invoices
• Preparation of journals for month-end pre-payments and accruals
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Monthly reconciliation of intercompany balances with other Group entities
• Maintenance of tracking schedules for particular balances such as exceptional items
• Analysis of significant costs and key account lines
• Assist in preparation of monthly cost centre reports and management presentations
• Weekly cash forecast
• Support Head Office Accountant in implementing control mechanisms
• Support Head Office Accountant in finding continuous improvement to processes
• Deputise for Head Office Accountant as necessary

Personal Skills/ Knowledge:


Essential:
• Strong knowledge of debits and credits
• SAP experience
• Excel experience
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Account analysis
• Variance analysis
• Experience of calculating month end journals for pre-payments and accruals
• Attention to detail
• Team player
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Keen to make improvements

 

Desirable:
• COGNOS or equivalent experience

 

Technical/ Professional Qualifications
• 2 yrs+ experience in similar role
