Job Title: Head Office Accountant
Department/ Business Area: Finance
Location: Aldersgate, London
Role overview: Work within the Head Office accounting team, performing accounting and cost review analysis for Group central functions and supporting all activities within Group Finance.
Key Tasks:
• Accounting for 2 legal entities, covering multiple Head office cost centres
• Preparation of journals for month-end adjustments
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and proof of significant balances
• Monthly variance analysis by cost centre
• Analysis of significant costs and key account lines
• Preparation of monthly cost centre reports and management presentations
• Preparation of departmental forecasts and budgets through collection of inputs from key stakeholders
• Preparation of Forecast/ Budget analysis packs and presentations
• Support Senior Head Office Accountant in monthly cost review meetings with departmental budget holders
• Support Senior Head Office Accountant and Project Accountant in implementing controls mechanisms
• Support Senior Head Office Accountant and Project Accountant in finding continuous improvement to processes
• Deputise for Senior Head Office Accountant as necessary
• Completion of templates that report Head Office costs by functional area – e.g. IT and HR
• Liaison with Horizontal Reporting team, particularly regarding Ecommerce Centre of Excellence spend and recharges
