Ministry Health Care is a not-for-profit system of hospitals and clinics throughout central and northern Wisconsin.  We're a values-based organization where our margin ties directly to our mission:  to continually improve the health and well being of all people, especially the poor, in the communities we serve.  As part of Our Promise, we ensure that our patients come first in everything we do, and we are continuously looking at ways to get better and become more efficient.   The Ministry Health Care Performance Excellence department is looking to hire a Lean Leader position, to continue our emphasis on clinical operations, patient quality, and patient satisfaction for our Northern Region of our healthcare system, which includes Ministry Medical Group Clinics and several regional hospitals.   This position is a 40 hour per week position that will be based primarily from Rhinelander, WI.  We are specifically seeking someone focused in the clinical areas, so a healthcare background/licensure is highly desired for this opening.  We seek someone who has continuous improvement at the top of mind, can think broadly about processes, ask appropriate questions, and identify opportunities for improvement.   The Lean Leader will also interact frequently with other Lean Leaders in the organization that support other segments/functions to ensure alignment and progress against Lean implementation strategy.  This role is charged with building the capabilities of employees at all levels and functions throughout organization, including up to the most senior level executives. 

 

In this role you will focus on:

 

 

Apply Lean/Six Sigma principles to optimize quality, productivity, on-time delivery, operational efficiencies, which result in improved customer satisfaction as defined by the customer.

 

Lead groups and facilitate events, including Kaizen, Rapid Improvements workshops and Six Sigma events.

 

Assist with the lean cultural transformation by including communication and implementation of large-scale programs and initiatives that will drive implementation of Lean methods and principles.

 

Leverage software/computer-based tools to analyze financial data, write reports, and prepare presentations (MS Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Quickbase, MiniTab, etc.)

 

Develops, maintains, tracks, and reports on the project plan, which will include tasks required by the project, what resources are required to accomplish the task (people, equipment, training, etc.), task duration/schedule, costs, and other related information to properly facilitate the lean event.

 

 

Serves on teams as appropriate to support MHC organizational and operational efforts from a Performance Excellence perspective.

 

Supports and works with outside departments throughout the care continuum to promote positive working relationships within the integrated delivery network.

 

Train, coach and develop internal champions.  Acts as a mentor and provides facilitation assistance as needed. 

Bachelor of Science in engineering, business or healthcare related field required.

Experience with Project Management preferred.

A minimum of 3 years process improvement deployment experience is desired, along with demonstrated understanding in Lean Principles and Six Sigma.  Recent assignments will include successful process improvement initiatives in a healthcare, manufacturing, or business environment.   

Lean or Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.

Healthcare credential such as licensure or certification (RN, PT, etc) is preferred
