The Associate Director of Government Affairs will become a registered federal lobbyist for Kraft Foods Group working out of the Washington, DC Government Affairs Office. As such, they will manage a portfolio of public policy issues for the company at the federal level. Management of these issues would include identification of current and emerging policy issues in an assigned area which could impact the business, internal and external analysis of the issue, and development of a strategy to drive a positive outcome on the legislative or regulatory issue.


Public Policy: Manage portfolio of public policy issues. Identify current and potential policy issues in assigned area which could critically impact the business.


Analysis/Quantification: Determine specific impact to the business, analyze metric for success and determine ability to uniquely drive the agenda externally. Identify “Kraft only” exposures/opportunities and propose realistic time frame for outcomes.


Outcomes: Working with internal colleagues and external partners (trade associations, consultants, stakeholder groups) to develop strategy and drive outcomes.


Communications: Technical and strategic writer and facilitator of communications from GA to both internal and external audiences. Develop and produce regular internal communications tools for maintaining dialog with key management team members. Develop and produce regular postings for internal KFT website in conjunction with internal communications team.


Internal and External Contacts: Candidate will interact weekly with CLA colleagues as well as BU and corporate functions, DC Based trade association’s representatives, and daily with members of the GA Team.
