We are looking for a Principal Scientist to lead our non-clinical immunotoxicology efforts. Candidate will work with internal and external partners to contribute to the strategy, execution, and reporting of non-GLP investigative and mechanistic toxicology studies and will be responsible for the non-GLP development and qualification of new in vitro and in vivo immunotox models. Candidate will also be responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and harnessing new technologies associate with immune function assessments to help ensure de-risking of compounds, understand the human relevance of adverse immunologic effects seen in animals, and/or possibly deploy after validation to use as routine screens in lead optimization. Candidate will be expected to lead a team of highly talented associate scientists versed in the field of investigative toxicology as well as be expected to work in the lab. Development and/or establishment of these assays within Merck will allow for the potential understanding and de-risking of human safety findings that may surface in clinical trials and the human relevance of safety concerns raised in animal toxicology studies.
Education:
- Ph.D.
Required Experience:
- Ph.D. in Immunology or Immunotoxicology plus post-doctoral experience
- Demonstrated scientific leadership experience
- Superior written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility
- The ability to thrive in a team environment
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of (5) years of industry experience in Immunotoxicology
