Installation Technician

Barco

Under minimum supervision, performs a variety of complex technical tasks to build up and install projection systems to be integrated at customer sites.  Responsibilities include integration of, as well as installation of products and customized solutions while maintaining customer satisfaction.

 

-Support and upgrade all assigned Barco equipment.  This includes installing new

 equipment, installing upgrades to existing equipment, troubleshooting, repair, and

 preventative maintenance.

-Set up and alignment of projectors and associated technology.

-Set up of video screens by following layout drawings and manufacturer

 specifications.

-Installation of other sub-systems based on drawings and manufacturer specs.

-Troubleshoot/test equipment by thoroughly checking the entire system to ensure

 full functionality.

-May solve mechanical or electronic problems involved in the operation of the

 product.

-Ability to use and understand hand tools and power tools in a variety of conditions

 and positions.

-Provide on-site consulting to ensure the client's expectations are met, to include

 technical guidance to clients.

-Provide additional training to customers when required.

-Expedient, professional response to customer requests.

-Maintain ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in

 situations where limited standardization exists.  Must be able to interpret and act

 on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule

 form.

-Provide timely, accurate, legible paperwork.

-Provide supervisor with timely and accurate activity reports, expense reports,

 quality reports, and other required documentation.

-Record, monitor and control expenses.

-Monitor and control assigned inventory.

-Arrange travel within established guidelines.

-Ability to understand and navigate ERP system.

-Expedient, professional response to customer requests.

-Exhibits positive daily disposition.

-Advocates safety and quality in all aspects of job.

-Up to 80% overnight travel.

Associate's Degree; typically requires 1-3 years technical training or equivalent and 1-3 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

-Ability to use electronic theory and basic machine tools.

-Ability to work from schematics, rough sketches, and assembly drawings.

-Ability to interface with customers.

-Good organization and time management skills.

-High ethical character and commitment to business.

-Experience in the video field or CRT technology.

-Strong troubleshooting ability.

-Self-starter.

-Ability to lift minimum 50 pounds.

-Ability to climb to perform field service.

-Air travel required, including international.

-Must be US citizen.
