Summary
The Regional Transfer Center Nurse Coordinator serves as the single point of contact and provides clinical expertise, medical communication and quality assessment for the successful referral and transfer of patients between and to Sutter West Bay Region Hospitals (SWRBH).
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- R.N. California License required.
- BSN degree required
- health care management strongly preferred
Knowledge:
- EMTALA and HIPAA regulations
- Microsoft Office software experience required
- Previous Financially Counseling experience helpful
- Medical and managed care terminology required
- Coding - ICD9 and CPT code knowledge required
- Previous experience in working with database systems necessary
- Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of third party reimbursement helpful
- Must be able to ensure follow through with responsibilities and communicate with a varied level of health care staff
- Ability to manage the stress of balancing conflicting priorities and of working in a fast-paced environment
Experience:
- Three years critical care or emergency department experience required
