Description
 
The Senior Project/Program Manager - Big Data acts as a liaison between various delivery teams requiring coordination of these resources. Through understanding of core business and service objectives and processes, this position will translate those needs into a clear definition of system and requirements, culminating in the production launch of systems and/or enhancements that obtain those objectives.
 
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Lead oversight of day-to-day project and program control of a multi-location/function team.
  • Work with key members of various departments to identify and resolve application issues, system enhancements, and new user requirements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to design and implement application enhancements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives and improvements.
  • Provide input for production related issues.
  • Proactively identify new opportunities to improve the effectiveness of the program (increase revenue, increase conversion rate, increase service utilization logins, increase quality).
  • Coordinate post-production support for releases and enhancements.
  • Must be able to identify and manage project related issues and risks. Ability to manage issues to resolution, and willingness to directly takes ownership and work with various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to create and manage timelines, either using a traditional waterfall approach, an interactive Agile approach or a combination of both.
  • May be required to manage Business/Functional Analyst positions for individual projects.
  • Must be able to manage projects simultaneously, act with greater autonomy in managing their workload and provide leadership to a Big Data Solutions opportunity.
  • Utilizes knowledge of business, industry and technology to incorporate business process improvements into the organization and/or develop business strategies and function/business/technical architectures.
  • Demonstrates good written skills to document solutions in proposals to customers, and possesses strong verbal skills to be able to present solutions to customers at both working and executive levels.
  • Demonstrates strong customer interface skills and is technically credible working in a sales environment.
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and varied schedule.
  • 7/24 on call availability for resolving high severity issues during new product rollout
 
Qualifications
 
Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years experience with IT systems
  • Previous project management experience
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Software Engineering
  • Typically requires functional knowledge of big data concepts and potential application.
  • Past success leading technology projects
