The Sr. Firewall Administrator will participate in establishing policy and hands on implementation across a diverse set of enterprise level technologies. A primary focus will be administration of 3000 series Palo Alto firewalls, and 5000 series Cisco ASA devices across multiple data centers world-wide.

 

Role Responsibilities

-Implement changes to firewalls and WSAs

-Troubleshoot network connectivity problems

-Reviews, prioritizes and recommends information security improvements

-Administer / set up VPN connections globally

-Provides information to leadership regarding the negative impact on the business

-Ensure that firewall devices are maintained and configured according to manufacturer’s

 specifications

-Define and establish Information Security Policies

-Support internal and external production infrastructure and processes

-Install and maintain internal company data center hardware

-Prepare DR mechanisms and conduct failover testing

-Assist in preparing and updating documentation, including installation guides, user guides, DR plans,

 Visio maps, configure backups, etc.

-Support project managers and team leaders in multiple facets

 

As a managed security provider, Dell SecureWorks expects its employees to understand and apply commonly known security practices and possess a working knowledge of applicable industry controls such as NIST 800-53. Employees will be expected to acknowledge their security responsibilities in writing prior to gaining access to company systems. Employees will be required to maintain a working knowledge of local security policies and execute general controls as assigned.

Requirements

-1 to 2 years’ experience administering / managing Cisco ASA / PIX firewalls

-Required to work on site with client 5 days per week
-10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience

-Must have strong experience with enterprise level networking

-Experience with Network Security (CISSP qualification preferred)

-Experience with packet sniffers and network diagnostic toolsets

-Must have strong written and oral communication skills

 

Preferences

-4 year degree or equivalent experience

-3 to 7 years’ experience administering / managing NGFW Palo Alto firewalls (willing to train)
