Analyst – Frontier Market Banks

Job Purpose:
We are seeking to employ an equity research analyst to work within the CEEMEA team. The person will be responsible for coverage of the Frontier Market Banking sector. The role will include contact with Citi’s sales & trading platform and institutional equity clients with the goal of developing Research’s internal and client franchise.

Citi Research covers more than 3,000 companies, or more than 90 percent of the capitalization of the major global indices, and provides macro and quantitative analysis of global markets and sector trends. Combined with Citi's exceptional sales and trading capabilities, the core focus of the group is to help clients in their investment process by providing value-added, independent, insightful analysis. In EMEA, Citi Research covers 830 stocks and has a presence in a number of markets, including the UK, Italy, South Africa, Poland and Russia.
Key Responsibilities:
With responsibility for lead coverage of Frontier Market Banks, the person is expected to build a market-leading research franchise which attracts significant client recognition. The person will be expected to generate a range of commercial investment ideas and thought leading research products for the benefit of both Citi’s global institutional client base and the bank’s own equity platform.
- Proven relevant financial services and/or specific industry experience.
- Clear knowledge of Citi and our clients and their investment processes.
- A sound grasp of financial analysis, modeling and valuation techniques.
- Excellent written and presentation skills.
- An established track record of producing research on the stocks requiring coverage.
- A proven ability to leverage research via an in-house sales force and trading desk.
- An understanding of stock market sentiment and how to harness this in an investment context.
- Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative working style.
- Demonstrates an understanding of Citi’s clients and has a clear proposal for how to meet their requirements.
- Demonstrates strong relationships with C-level management at companies requiring coverage.
- A track record of consistently producing outstanding results under pressure.
- Typically MBA/CFA
