We're looking for talented software engineers to build software frameworks and applications for processing large data sets.  As part of our Big Data team, you’ll be immersed in a creative environment located in downtown Palo Alto. You'll collaborate with a talented team of data scientists and developers to solve real world problems through large scale applications

·        Developing Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, NoSQL, text mining and others

·        Build an integrated Big Data platform that enables rapid deployment of data mining and insight applications.

·        Leverage best in class open source and commercial components to build the Big Data platform. Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to solve cutting edge business problems.

·       Interact with data scientists and industry experts to understand data needs and how they evolve into reusable applications

 

        Strong hands on experience with design and development of java based applications effectively leveraging design patterns

 

·        Prior experience with large-scale real time or batch mode data processing systems. Experience with hadoop and/or Spark ecosystem components is a strong plus.

·         Experience building data analytics for structured and unstructured data

·         Understanding of data mining / machine learning concepts and algorithms

·         Understanding of functional programming paradigm, experience with Scala is a plus.

·         Strong communication skills with ability to work with a distributed team

·         Experience with capacity planning and performance tuning of distributed systems is a plus
