Job Summary and Mission
This position contributes to the success of Starbucks Evolution Fresh by applying extensive supply chain and manufacturing knowledge around ERP systems (Ross ERP, Oracle, SAP or other ERP suite of products) in an IT role to effectively support and lead current processes/applications while identifying, designing, and deploying enhanced process and technology solutions supporting the operational requirements and/or strategic initiatives. Contributes to solutioning and consulting on projects and sustainment initiatives of moderate to high scope and complexity with strong experience on SDLC.
Drives resolution of complex business technology challenges by leveraging functional subject matter expertise. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles. Manages small to medium projects and initiatives assigned.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Solution Delivery
- Identifies and effectively assesses improvement opportunities (productivity/efficiency gains, cost savings, etc.)
- Gathers, analyzes, and documents business requirements to support the design and development of technology and/or process solutions
- Leverages relevant process and technology expertise to propose appropriate solution options
- Translates business requirements into technology solutions. Clearly defines and communicates targeted functional solution via functional design specifications. Verifies technical designs satisfy functional requirements.
- Performs application configuration in support of solution delivery initiatives
- Coordinates solution delivery activities with vendors as required
- Participates in solution testing by developing test plans, preparing test environments, coordinating the test execution, and validating test results.
- Creates system and end-user documentation to support new system implementation, enhancement deployment, and incident management efforts. Delivers training and performs knowledge transfer to team members as required.
- Supports project initiation efforts by assisting in the definition of project scope and the development of work plans, estimates, and timelines
- Identifies gaps in current systems / technology. Identifies opportunities and proposes projects to improve systems and processes driven by technology around integrations, loads, reporting capabilities
Production Support / Sustenance
- Leverages subject matter expertise in analyzing and troubleshooting moderately complex system/user issues to drive resolution and determine root cause
- Coordinates issue resolution efforts across peer support groups, technical support teams, and vendors as required
- Effectively coordinates and communicates issues resolution with end-users
- Correlates related production issues and assesses trends to identify broader improvement opportunities
- Extends technology support internationally to support global business operations
Coordination / Leadership
- Effectively facilitates/negotiates through challenging situations
- Builds partnerships across all organization levels within Information Technology, internal business customers, technical support resources, and external business partners
- May lead small to medium project teams or direct the activities of a given project phase
- Supports the development of less-experienced analysts through coaching and mentoring
- Supports team building and internal process improvement efforts
Summary of Experience
- Relevant functional/business process experience around supply chain and discrete/process manufacturing (food or beverage manufacturing environment is an advantage) (8 years)
- Solution design, testing, and implementation experience (7 years)
- Production support, system maintenance, upgrades, solutioning and enhancement delivery experience with ERP systems (Ross Systems, SAP or Oracle / OPM preferred) (5 years)
- Applicable application and system configuration experience (5 years)
- End user support and documentation experience (4 years)
- Analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment (5 years)
- IT Projects experience as a project resource or lead (2 years)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Hands-on Functional knowledge in manufacturing and relevant supply chain peripheral functions and modules (Discrete and/or Process Mfg)
- Working knowledge and understanding of manufacturing configurations and functionality around Bills of Material and Routings / Formulae and Recipes, Discrete Jobs / Batches, reconciliations, procurement, order management and WMS principles
- Understanding of integrations between Manufacturing Transaction Systems (Oracle eBS, SAP Mfg) and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems)
- Understanding of best practices towards Manufacturing related deployments / implementations
- Technical understanding of basic SQL and PL/SQL principles with SQL Server / Oracle
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Knowledge and/or experience in project lifecycle methodologies around SDLC / Agile Scrum
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to understand, analyze and help business develop process flows and in SOPs
- High customer-facing skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
