Work-Study Program, Lab Technician - Ethanol Plant (Albert City, Iowa)

The Work-Study Lab Technician is an on-going Work-Study position and will possibly continue until the student's graduation date.

Reporting to the QA/QC Lab Manager and mentor, the Work-Study Lab Technician student will be exposed to the quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) program for the ethanol plant to ensure maximum production quantity and quality. It is the intent of the Work-Study program to provide a valuable and beneficial learning experience.

Student must have availability to work during the Fall and Spring semester (weekdays and/or weekends 20-25 hours per week) and approximately 40 hours per week during the Summer. Options to work Summer-only may be considered.

The facility uses a dry-grind production method and state-of-the-art technology to maintain industry-leading standards in production, safety, product quality and environmental stewardship. The Charles City plant annually processes nearly 43 million bushels of corn into 120 million gallons of denatured ethanol and 400,000 tons of distillers grains co-products. The bio-refinery has a nameplate capacity of 110 million gallons of ethanol per year and employs approximately 60 full-time personnel.
