AREVA NDE-Solutions:

Our Engineering group does one of a kind development of products using Mechanical, Electrical, Software and Computer design skills. The group develops mechanical systems, control systems, and software in support of many different NDE products used in the inspection of nuclear power plants. This group provides an excellent opportunity to program, design, build, and test products for field use.

This is very much a hand's on working Engineering environment. The kind of person that will enjoy this type of work environment is one that likes to take a project from a conceptual design idea through fabrication then take the final system to the field for real world hands on use.

Our engineering group designs very specific tooling, electrical controls, and software to be used in the NDE inspection of nuclear power plant components.

Designs typically include:
  • Remote robotic manipulators with up to 6 degrees of motion that will operate in high radiation environments.
  • Remote NDE processes.
  • Remotely controlled audio and video communication, tracking, and measurement systems.
  • Process databases and online status reporting.
  • Process control using 3D CAD graphics packages.
  • Printed circuit board design incorporating Xilinx FPGA.
  • Closed loop position controls using servo amps and position feedback.
  • Software design and position control using kinematics and reverse kinematics.
  • Develop virtual work environment representations of tools as part of tooling control operator user interface software.
