The position within the Department of Screening and Protein Sciences offers the successful candidate the opportunity to join a diverse and dynamic team focused on identifying small molecules suitable for optimization into drug candidates. The candidate will utilize state of the art drug screening technologies to develop and miniaturize biochemical and cell-based assays to be applied in a high throughput screening paradigm. The candidate should demonstrate flexibility to learn multiple technologies in order to address a wide array of drug targets from multiple therapeutic areas. As a member of a central team, the candidate should possess strong communication skills and be capable of collaborating within a diverse team environment.
Education:
-
B.S. degree in biochemistry, biology, or related discipline with 3+ years of industry or academic experience or an M.S. in any of the above fields, preferably with industry experience.
Required:
-
The candidate must have strong laboratory skills in biology or biochemistry preferably with an understanding of in vitro assay development and a variety of assay technologies used to monitor biochemical reactions.

The candidate must be capable of understanding and interpreting data and demonstrate an ability to apply scientific knowledge to problem solving.

The candidate must display strong communication skills, especially in regards to describing experimental design, results, and conclusions to teams with a diverse background.

The candidate must be self-motivated and flourish in a team-based environment.
Preferred:
-
Familiarity with high-throughput screening related technologies and processes such as assay miniaturization, plate-based readers or automated liquid handlers is desired.
