2. Purpose of Position
Candidate must be able to perform engineering/technical assignments using manufacturing / industrial engineering practices and principles in a fast paced lean manufacturing environment. Designs and implements manufacturing methods and processes that support product quality and productivity goals and objectives for both new and existing products.
3. Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates ability to perform as a self-starter to drive continuous improvement efforts in areas of responsibility. Continually seeks new opportunities to improve both processes and products.
- Provides necessary support within the factory and department to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost goals.
- Provides engineering support by troubleshooting problems and implementing timely solutions to maintain continuity of production flow.
- Participates on New Product Development projects. Interfaces with other departments during development process to ensure design for safety, quality, manufacturability, and cost position.
- Designs manufacturing processes within schedule and budgetary parameters.
- Monitors and debugs production and test methods / procedures to ensure system efficiencies.
- Prepares design concept drawings, cost estimates and implementation schedules for production equipment and tooling.
- Reviews and recommends changes to mechanical drawings and process documentation.
- Interfaces with other manufacturing departments to address and resolve engineering issues.
- Interfaces with vendors and outside sales personnel to evaluate, cost estimate, and select purchase parts and production equipment.
- Leads and participates in Monthly Improvement Workshops (Kaizens).
- Develop, update and maintain the BOM’s, routing and cost structure information in QAD.

- Reports to a Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, or DBS or Value Stream Manager.

1. Background and Skills
- Bachelor’s
Degree in Engineering required, preferably Industrial, Mechanical or Electromechanical
Engineering.
- One (1)
to three (3) years of specifically related experience preferred but not
required.
- Knowledge
and experience with lean tools and principles would be beneficial.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
