RN II- Labor & Delivery-Per Diem

Centers of excellence include: Interventional Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Women's and Children's Services, and Level III NICU.

 

Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients; may supervise the work and function as a team leader for other staff nurses, licensed vocational nurses, nursing assistants and service assistants; perform related duties as required within the scope of practice.  Staff Nurse I's may assume some, but not all the duties of a Staff Nurse II.  Staff Nurse I's will promote to Staff Nurse II with appropriate experience.

****Primarily NIGHT shift position*****

 

Possession of a valid California License as a Registered Nurse. 

Labor and Delivery experience preferred.  Academic course work, which directly relates to the knowledge and abilities listed above.  Graduation from an approved school of nursing will meet these requirements.  Any combination of training and experience that will provide an opportunity to acquire the skills, knowledge, and abilities listed above.  Normally, six-month recent professional nursing experience in an acute care facility would provide this opportunity for Staff Nurse II level.  Nurses with less than 6 months (1040 hours) of acute care experience are to be considered as a Staff Nurse I.  ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP may be required for some positions.
