Would you like to work in a Level II Trauma Center? Now is the time to join our busy Emergency Department at St. Joseph's Hospital! We have a casual opportunity for an experienced RN to join our team.
The Registered Nurse, working in collaboration with the primary physician, provides coordination of the patient plan of care and the patient care team. The Registered Nurse works with the patient/family/significant other(s) and interdisciplinary team members to develop an individualized plan of care to include educational and discharge planning interventions. Together with interdisciplinary team members, the Registered Nurse evaluates the plan of care and addresses unmet outcomes for further intervention or consultation. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to deliver care for specified patients in accordance with Saint Joseph's Hospital's Mission, Policies and Procedures and Standards of Practice and Care, and the American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
Essential Functions
- Assesses patient's status through interview, observation, and physical assessment, considering the patient's age and development.
- Critically analyzes and communicates multi-disciplinary assessment data among team members.
- Identifies and diagnoses alterations in findings in conjunction with patient's clinical presentation.
- Consistently prioritizes patient care assignments based on changes in patient's condition and unanticipated interruptions while delegating care in order to achieve optimal, safe and cost effective patient and organizational outcomes.
- Conducts initial and ongoing age-appropriate assessments for assigned patients.
- Provides age-appropriate nursing care to patients in accordance with standards of Clinical Nursing Practice.
- Applies safety measures appropriate for the patient's age and development.
- Consistently demonstrates accurate and complete documentation.
- Utilizes computer applications and medical complex information systems.
- Graduation from a National League for Nursing (NLN) approved school with an Associate Degree, Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in nursing is required.
- A minimum of two years of Emergency/Critical Care RN experience is preferred
- Current license to practice as a RN in the State of Wisconsin is required.
- Additional certifications in ACLS, TNCC, ENPC are required within 1 year of starting in the Emergency Department.
