Funds Services division of CIB requires a senior Java Developer to join the Bournemouth based development team, supporting the ongoing development of the Transfer Agency (TA) platform.
 
Funds Services division of CIB provides third party funds administration within the EMEA region. There is a requirement for a senior Java Developer to join the support and development of its strategic TA product.
 
The role will involve working in the BAU Agile pod, providing client enhancements, application support, and implementation of strategic solutions. The work will be based on Java technologies running on Tomcat/Linux stack, although other technologies will be used where appropriate. Although the role is based in Glasgow the Technology team is co-located in Bournemouth, India, Luxembourg, and London, excellent communication and cross site working skills are required.
 
The ideal candidate will be an outstanding Java developer with a strong track record of working on medium/large scale mission critical systems. The candidate will posses excellent problem solving skill, delivering changes into a complex environment with flawless execution. The candidate will possess a keen interest in technology, aware of industry change and how it can benefit their projects.
 
  • Working with technology architects to design and implement solutions aligned to the strategic platform
  • Documenting and communicating design to all stakeholders
  • Coding systems adhering to departmental quality rules.
  • Testing. Automated unit, automated SIT and manual SIT testing
  • Documenting systems – Option papers, Design, Testing Strategy, Testing, Runbooks
  • Mentoring staff
  • Promoting technology change and advancement
  • Work with senior technologist to define technology standards
  • Delivery quality systems on time and on scope.

·         Strong Java background

·         Strong Design background

·         Experience of the following technologies; Spring platform, Tomcat, Mule, Maven, MQ, JMS, SQL on one of the main RDMS platforms (Oracle Preferred), Web Development using Spring. Groovy, Grails

·         Experience of the following platforms; Solaris, Linux.

·         Knowledge of application integration pattern and techniques.

·         Understanding of transaction systems and messaging.

·         Understanding of application security. 

·         Understanding of automated testing

·         Proven track record in delivering medium / large scale application within a complex environment.

·         Self motivated and capable of working autonomously with minimal management supervision.

·         Team player with excellent communication and problem solving skills

·         Absolute attention to detail

  • Knowledge of Test Driven Development
  • Exposure to ETL tools
