The current health care markets are evolving to base health plan premiums on the risk of the population and to the quality of care delivered to patients.  Additionally, health plans are attempting to leverage products and services to drive quality improvement, adherence, and lower cost of care.   Success will require health care organizations to manage the health of their population, and actively identify patients who have unmet needs, and intervene to assure that needs are met.  Optum leadership is needed to help our clients to assure their success in these changing markets.

 

This position is to provide data and information to support the development of new products and services for OptumRx – one of the national’s leading pharmacy benefit managers.  This role will work within a small team of researchers and analysts to help design, optimize, and measure the performance of a suite of product and service offerings.

 

 

The position is to provide analytic support relative to the development and evaluation of OptumRx products and services.   Responsibilities include:

 

• Collaborate with customer and other team member to understand the nature of the project and develop data analysis plan.

 

• Extract data from a variety of sources including medical and drug claims data, membership eligibility, demographics, and operational processes.

 

• Cleanse, summarize, aggregate data based on data needs for the project.

 

• Analyze data and provide summary information in a format that is easily understood by non-technical audience

 

• Respond to questions and provide timely response to customers. 

 

 

Bachelor’s degree in health care management, mathematics, statistics, economics or other related field is required.

 

Experience analyzing medical and pharmacy claims and health plan eligibility records highly desirable

 

2 years of experience analyzing complex data required, preferably using of SAS.

 

1+ years of experience in extracting data from a large data store required.

 

Experience in health plans, PBM desirable.
