Business

 

EDG consists of the Exotics, Flow, Delta One, Corporate Derivatives and Convertible Bonds businesses. The Exotics desk focuses on client facilitation of exotics OTC option trades as well as the issuance of structured notes with exotics equity and hybrid underliers.  The Flow desk trades vanilla equity volatility products, including listed options, vanilla OTC’s and volatility swaps, and light exotic OTC’s.  The Delta One desk trades delta one products, including equity swaps, futures, and option pairs, as well as providing market making and financing for ETF’s. The Corporates desk caters to corporate clients, offering them bespoke OTC derivatives and financing transactions.  The Convertible trading desks primary function is market making in Convertible bonds.

 

The desks focus on North America, with a primary focus on the United States, but can, from time to time, encompass global markets.

 

The team and the candidate

 

We are seeking to hire a VP level Product Controller to manage a team of 11.

 

The key responsibilities of the team are

• Running and analyzing the mark to market of the portfolio, daily P&L reporting, P&L substantiation, and residual analysis.
• Partnering with Financial Control to ensure that front to back systems are in line, and  to close out month end with accurate reporting of MIS and accounting in the books and records.
• Production of daily/weekly/monthly MIS, commentary and controls, and reporting to senior Finance and business members.
• Working with Front Office on new deals and analysing the impacts to the Control function, as well as evaluating the accounting impacts of complex deals, especially on the Corporates desk.
• Working with the centralized Americas Balance Sheet function to report on and substantiate Balance Sheet usage, RWA and Funds Transfer Pricing.

 

 

As the manager of the team you will be reporting into the ED head of Americas Equity Product Control. You will be responsible for the management and development of the NA team. You will be the key face off to the senior desk heads, business managers and the corresponding heads of other support roles. With the changing regulatory and financial landscape you will be involved in analysing impact for the business and driving through change. You will be responsible for adding continuous improvements to the process and infrastructure. You must thrive on task completion, exception resolution and enjoy being constantly challenged.

 

• Managed a comparable size team
• Six years plus in Product Control

• Excellent Equities product knowledge, covering vanilla and exotic products, and excellent understanding of risk and greeks, including familiarity with barriers, multi-asset options, cliquets and call spreads
• Strong accounting knowledge of financial instruments
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail including a strong control focus
• Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationships.
