Associate Manager, Actuarial (Pension Risk Transfer Pricing Team)

The Associate Manager, Actuarial ~ Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) Funded Pricing, is a new position that will play a key role in product development and foundational pricing for Prudential’s rapidly growing PRT Funded business.

Responsibilities:

• Create and enhance actuarial models used to generate liability cash flows, asset cash flows, projected financial statements, and other key pricing metrics, to maximize accuracy & simulation of reality yet minimize run time & operational complexity.

• Provide timely, accurate, and insightful pricing analytics to facilitate confident decision-making and to achieve business goals.

• Build model validation tools & supporting documentation to educate potential model users and ensure accuracy of calculations.

• Conduct assumption and methodological reviews supported by robust data analysis that lead to strong recommendations.

• Collaborate with Corporate, Finance, Business, & Asset Liability Management (ALM) teams to determine and implement optimal pricing strategies that balance competitiveness, profitability, & solvency while ensuring compliance with Enterprise Pricing Standards.

• Partner with Business to develop new products.

• Provide transaction pricing support as needed.

• Develop Company and Industry knowledge, while critically thinking how this knowledge can apply to pricing.


Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of strong actuarial experience, such as Pricing, Valuation, or other types of similar financial modeling.

• Successfully passed 3 SOA Exams and committed to attaining an actuarial designation.

• Superior technical skills, solid business acumen, and ability to understand complex quantitative concepts & models.

• Investment/ALM experience, a high comfort level with programming languages, and/or exposure to insurance company financial statements would be helpful.

• GGY Axis modeling experience a plus.

• Good oral and written communication skills.

• Strong project management skills.

• Creative problem-solver, particularly in areas with very little clarity or precedence.

• Other risk/investment professional designations such as CFA, CERA, PRM, FRM or advanced degrees are not required but would be welcomed.

• Highly motivated and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with high quality standards.

• Fast learner and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment.

 

Position can be based in Iselin, NJ (moving to Newark, NJ in 2015) OR in our Hartford, CT office.
