MANAGING PRINCIPAL

The Managing Principal works to build relationships with senior-level clients to understand and solve business challenges and specific needs. The Managing Principal is often the leader of multiple complex projects specifying the direction and managing the different internal team members' contributions. These include determining project scope, client interactions, coaching the team, and providing oversight on the final client deliverables. The Principal is able to broadly represent Acxiom and all consulting practices, as well as providing expertise in multiple industries. This role is expected to lead associates, as well as books of business. The goal is for 50% of the Managing Principal's time to be spend delivering client engagements and working with clients on billable projects.

What you will do:
  • Engage on both individual projects and engage with client to deliver other consulting engagements across Consulting and Acxiom
  • Scope new projects, including definition of effort, development of cost, and SOW
  • Provide support to sales executives to close consulting deals and initiate consulting projects
  • Guild engagement execution around methodology and approach to ensure timeliness and quality of deliverables meet client expectations
  • Provide thought leadership on area(s) of subject matter expertise, including managing/mentoring team members, providing reusable content in the way of presentations, white papers and points of view
  • Develop or provide input on strategic content as commissioned by clients that is focused on solving business issues
  • Participate in thought leadership functions such as industry conferences, webinars, and other publicity events that establish Acxiom as thought leaders in a dedicated space
  • Develop new product solutions or practice areas in coordination with other parts of Acxiom, focusing on the integrations of consulting offerings into the global portfolio
  • Ensure continued emphasis and refinement on improving consulting approaches, processes, and practices
What you will need:
  • MBA or graduate degree in related field plus 10 years of experience in consulting management, business/IT consulting, or a specific industry or technology
  • Ability to demonstrate credibility in front of clients, provide thought leadership, a vision of the future, provide leadership to a team to create solutions, translate analytic insights into business value and action
  • Proven team leadership skills with at least 5 years of experience managing a staff of more than 5 associates
  • Generalist knowledge about a variety of topics and industries and understand how they all fit, including significant subject matter expertise - be the acknowledged expert on at least two subject areas
  • Business development/Relationship management skills
  • Engagement delivery skills - scope and quality of execution, deliverables, timing and budget
What will set you apart:
  • 5 years of experience in Big 5 or top agency consulting
  • 10 years of marketing experience with a large company
  • International business experience or exposure
