Role Summary
The Communications Program Manager (CPM) will play a key role in ensuring change initiatives meet objectives by focusing on the people side of change – with emphasis on communications.  The CPM will work to drive faster adoption, higher ultimate utilization and greater proficiency of the changes that impact employees in the organization to increase benefit realization and achievement of the implementation business case.
 
The Communications Program Manager is a member of the Leveraging Opportunities Change Management and will be expected to work with the Change Leads to gain an understanding of the project goals as well as timelines for delivery and execution of solutions to the Business. 
The position reports directly to the Vice President of Change Management for Leveraging Opportunities. 
  • The CPM is responsible for the successful management and completion of complex communications projects across multiple implementations using established and proven skills across the communications and project management spectrum -- from planning through creative execution using multiple media, to post-activity analysis.
  • The CPM must be adept at handling multiple communications deliverables across multiple implementations simultaneously, meeting aggressive deadlines and ensuring flawless accuracy.
  • The CPM must be able to partner with Leveraging Operations team members, implementation teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  • The CPM must demonstrate a strategic vision and work to continually align with the changing business needs/context.  
  • The CPM must cultivate a broad working knowledge of all U.S. Businesses and Corporate Centers.
 
 Primary Responsibilities
  • Applies advanced principles, theories and concepts in the assessment of communication needs and requirements across the Leveraging Opportunities Program; including U. S. Business Units and Corporate Centers and Leveraging Opportunities Implementations. Requires considerable working knowledge of other major areas with skill to integrate and communicate that information as well as possess in-depth knowledge of Prudential’s culture, businesses, products, and industry.
  • Executes aspects of the Program Communications Plan and associated work products. Facilitates implementation, monitors results, and insures successful completion of assigned projects. Program communications may include executive messaging, presentations, PruToday articles and videos, toolkits, meeting support, and the Leveraging Opportunities portal.
  • Contributes to strategy and executes aspects of implementation-specific communications plan in partnership with Change Leads and other leaders
  • Sets strategic communications direction on long-range projects, measured by objectives against pre-defined goals. Strategies, plans and related deliverables will have a significant impact on the organization·        
  • Coordinates program communications with Global Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Pru Productions, Event Coordinators, the HR Community and others as needed.
  • Coordinates with leaders of communications functions from across the US Business and Corporate Centers to expand program understanding and acceptance.
  • Ensures that the Leveraging Opportunities portal has accurate and timely content. Upholds the governance process, support communication and marketing needs to drive traffic, and work with GBTS to continually enhance functionality and design.
  • Maintains integrated communications plans and calendars.
  • Ensures compliance with the communications governance process.
  • Ensures compliance with branding standards and corporate editorial guidelines.
  • Collects, analyzes and acts on measurable feedback.
  
 
 
  

· Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism or similar      field; master’s degree preferred.

·    A minimum of seven years of progressive experience in organizational communications.

·    Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal -- with a demonstrated ability to clearly strategize and develop messages for diverse audiences.

·    Broad knowledge of Prudential’s varied businesses and corporate centers

·    A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process; experience with formal change models is a plus.

·    Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools.

·    Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.

·    Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.

·    Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.

·    Forward looking with a holistic approach.

·    Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics.

·    Creative problem solver with the courage and persistency to strive for results.

·    Ability to deal with tight deadlines, understands the larger objective, and creates innovative, compelling ideas to holistically fulfill strategies through multiple channels.

·    Proven experience with Microsoft Office (primarily Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Adobe, NotesComm, Portal Connections/Development, Photoshop, Email (Lotus Notes), social media and interactive communications channels.
