Under the direction of the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will provide leadership to the assigned Business Unit(s) in establishing, organizing, planning and implementing maintenance programs which will support the maintenance strategy across the 2nd and 3rd shifts of the operation.  These programs will include Preventive Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, Continuous Improvement (TPM, 5S, IL6S), Predictive Maintenance, Equipment Overhauls, and Equipment Upgrades.  This will also include the supervision, development and training/certification needs, and the provision of any of the technical services needed to support the Business Unit(s). This position will also be the key plant contact and facilitator for all major projects for the Business Unit(s).
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
·          Give guidance to the Business Unit(s) in organizing and planning the maintenance activities on all three shifts
·          Assist the Business Unit(s) in managing productivity through analysis of equipment process failures and implementing corrective action
·          Identify training needs and conduct training in Maintenance Management and technical topics for the Operation Supervisors, Plant Maintenance, etc.
·          Assist Maintenance Analyst in Implement new technologies to anticipate failures (predictive maintenance)
·          Assist the Maintenance Analyst in managing/enhancing preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, operator functions and continuous improvement programs
·          In a team environment provides leadership for concept design, equipment selection, implementation strategies and schedules for all of the Business Unit(s) capital projects
·          Involved in equipment and construction specifications with vendors, corporate project engineers to ensure maintenance avoidance on equipment purchases, as well as meeting implementation schedules
·          Assist chartered teams with project implementation
·          Involved in the coordination of equipment startups for all blanket and major projects
·          Ensure new equipment meets the requirements of OSHA, sanitation, Quality, maintenance and production
·          Assist in the management of MRO budget and provide feedback/analysis to the Maintenance Manager.
·          Responsible for the proper implementation of the accident prevention and compliance programs. Hold the hourly work force accountable for compliance with these programs.
·          Support and Operate the SAP Work Order System
·          Leads in collecting and analyzing process and equipment data for optimization
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise 20+ hourly mechanics, electricians and electronic tech employees.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the assigned department/shift.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
 
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Production, maintenance, project engineering, manufacturing engineering, corporate engineering, project teams R&D engineering, package development, product development, equipment and packaging supply vendors, outside contractors, consulting engineering firms, and other Kraft Foods facilities as directed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Preferred but not required minimum of five years experience in maintenance and engineering positions with a B.S. degree in Engineering or a related field.  Must have a sufficiently broad background including but not limited to packaging and processing equipment, maintenance systems, equipment installation and startups, plant facility and utility equipment, focused in the individual’s area of responsibility.  Individual should have experience working with vendors and contractors.  Individual must also be able to learn the company policies and procedures.  Individual must have interpersonal and team skills to function as team member and leader.
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
 
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
