This position is a key contributor within a respective Business Unit managing a specific segment of category spend within the Kraft packaging and ingredients portfolios, and key elements of Supplier Integration and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) for targeted packaging and ingredients categories. Contributes to the strategy that will drive the organization’s ability to leverage the supplier network to reduce the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), innovate, and integrate critical suppliers into the Kraft business model. This position is responsible for developing individual sourcing and category strategy for packaging and ingredients spend specific to their Business Unit, while incorporating supply base design/supply base consolidation, supplier qualification, and supplier relationship management through integrated relationships with critical members of the supply base. Ongoing activities include budgeting, productivity, quality management, stakeholder communication, strategy development, risk management and continuity planning, innovation and continuous improvement opportunities with suppliers. Responsible for financial planning with direct accountability for productivity and cash flow contributions for overarching procurement objectives and respective Business Unit goals. Maintains strong linkages with stakeholders in RD&Q, Operations and Supply Chain to ensure alignment on objectives and directs and manages resources and activities appropriately. Ensures compliance to overall Kraft, Business Unit and Procurement governance model including all related policies and procedures.

 

Supplier Integration and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM). Leads all aspects of supplier integration and relationship management for a respective Business Unit for packaging and ingredients categories including adherence to contractual terms and conditions, measurement and tracking of established KPI’s, joint business review planning and facilitation, communication, and reporting. Responsible for leading discussions with critical suppliers around long-term objectives and strategies, ongoing market trends, innovation and technology advances, and potential investment decisions. Ensures that suppliers fully understand the overall Kraft value stream and the end customer, and that Kraft commitments to suppliers are being fulfilled. Facilitates ongoing solicitation of feedback around supplier performance to include communications, accuracy of specifications, project leadership, quality and delivery, and access to new opportunities. Coordinates necessary IT/IS linkages to ensure that supplier relationships can be fully leveraged.
Manages and facilitates the relationships with key integrated supplier resources including Category Captains and Supplier Residents from overall work stream development from a Total Cost of Ownership perspective, alignment of resources, overarching project management development, and performance management.

 

Strategic Planning/Continuity Planning. Participates in key aspects of business and financial planning for packaging and ingredients for a respective Business Unit. Also responsible for the strategic planning process for integrated suppliers that incorporates establishing high level category plans as aligned with business objectives, creating project teams based upon business objectives, supporting with internal staff and systems as needed, and providing change management guidance and direction for any newly implemented supply base design model. Keeps business leadership informed of all supplier progress and metrics, project updates, and future plans. Builds robust contingency and continuity plans with critical suppliers to ensure that all production needs are fulfilled.

 

Project Management. Facilitates cross group or cross functional teams in association with critical productivity or innovation initiatives for packaging and ingredients categories. Builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders within the Kraft community in addition to supplier and industry communities. Drives performance based outcomes in conjunction with an overall Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) philosophy. Reports progress, communicates results, and elevates issues if necessary in order to achieve performance outcomes. Has ownership and accountability for productivity, cash flow and innovation goals.

 

Business Specific Sourcing / Procurement. Provides oversight for the strategic sourcing process for categories of packaging and ingredients spend unique to the business unit, while following all guidelines across the Kraft Source to Pay (STP) process from sourcing and segmentation through negotiations, contracting and implementation while working to enhance Supplier Diversity goals. Provides deep category insight and expertise for specific categories through understanding of costs, cost drivers, market, industry and supplier variables. Facilitates all linkages for individual purchase order transactions, production, scheduling, and inventory management. Strategically and proactively interacts with plant production scheduling to develop optimized sourcing requirements for the respective business to include applicable supplier managed inventory (SMI) programs from a TCO perspective. Ensures continuity of supply for key packaging and ingredients categories through formal risk mitigation planning.

 

Compliance and Governance. Supports the institutionalization of the Procurement governance model across their respective Business Unit, and ensures compliance to all related policies and procedures and other Corporate programs such as food defense, PROGRESS, quality audits, financial due diligence, etc.
