Description:
The International Tax Specialist / Sr. Tax Specialist works in a team environment where he/she applies and develops their tax-technical expertise and partners with groups across the company to order to fully comply with U.S. income tax and ASC 740 reporting requirements for ConocoPhillips international operations.
Responsibilities may include:
- Fulfill U.S. income tax reporting requirements of ConocoPhillips international operations and cross-border transactions. This includes preparing IRS forms 926, 1118, 5471, 8858 and 8865.
- Accumulate, analyze, and process financial accounting data in order to prepare tax returns, monitor transfer pricing compliance and produce tax forecasts in a cost effective manner
- Assist with monitoring, and planning for the utilization of, the company’s foreign tax credits
- Collect and analyze information used to comply with ASC 740 for the non-U.S. subsidiaries
- Interpret and apply the Internal Revenue Code, regulations, rulings, case law, announcements, and notices to company transactions
- Assist in developing responses to IRS inquiries
- Develop and improve reporting processes
Basic/Required:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
- 7+ years of experience in federal tax
- 5+ years of experience in international tax
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Tax
- CPA
- Technical/Functional Expertise - strong background in U.S. corporate taxation as well as solid financial, analytical and computer skills

- SAP and CorpTax experience preferred
