Description
Responsibilities
- Monitor contractor’s material control activities during major events.
- Participate in identification of critical equipment and surplus material plan development collaborating with the Logistics function.
- Monitor close-out of purchase order activities as required.
- Support the Expediting function of materials and equipment as required ensuring construction and Turnaround requirements are met.
- Develop strategy, planning and execution plans for the Turnaround according to ConocoPhillips practices and procedures.
- Function as part of the Turnaround core team providing overall SCM direction.
- Supporting SCM’s Goals and Objectives.
- Active leadership role in supporting ConocoPhillips safety culture.
- Liaison with CCM coordinator and Cost Analyst positions to ensure compliance with OLA’s, Scopes of Work and rate structures
- Lead the development of the SCM Turnaround plan and strategy.
- Collaborate with Capital project stakeholders and activities leveraging all resources.
- Identifies new opportunities, leveraging Corporate and industry best practices.
- Representing SCM as the point of contact at all Turnaround/Capital project discussions.
- Responsible for developing value added reporting and communications.
- Presenting progress updates on behalf of SCM
- Liaison with SCM functional leads ensuring deliverables are met
- Collaborate with the Joint Venture team working to maintain visibility and momentum.
- Monitor and evaluate contractor’s logistics, procurement and staffing activities plan and recommend changes based on logistic needs
- Strategic Contracts work relative the Turnaround work only.
- Communicate relative Market Intelligence – provide value-added industry best practices proposals
- Evaluation pre and post Turnaround service providers – provide lessons learned and new opportunities
- Develop and maintain a SCM action log and registry
- Contractor liaison
Challenges:
- Integrating with the customer to provide the highest level of service through continual business change and growth.
- Integrating with the Capital, Operations and Turnaround teams as it relates to Supply Chain Management.
- Prioritizing work execution based on the total demand verse available resource capacity.
- Remote location.
- Harsh weather conditions, difficult terrain.

Basic/Required Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in Canada on a regular full-time basis without restrictions
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Best Practices
- Well organized
- Positive team member
- Microsoft word and excel applications
- Understanding of ERP logic
- Good communication
- Adaptability
Other Information:
- Surmont Operations/Turnaround
- 5/2 work weeks with 12 hour days on site during Turnaround
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain Turnaround related activities on a medium to large-scale Operations and Capital projects in the upstream portion of petroleum industry considered a plus.
- 5+ years’ experience on major oil/gas, power and petrochemical capital projects preferred.
- Demonstrated sensitivity and understanding of culture and business practices.
- Ability to work within a diverse cultural environment.
- Demonstrated interpersonal/teambuilding skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to extract transactional data and report/make recommendations driving continuous improvement.
- Strong commitment to safety.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Strong business acumen to include conceptualization and practical working knowledge of Supply Chain Management.
- Experience in managing multiple locations/business units in parallel
- Strong material commodities knowledge applicable to Oil and Gas facilities
- Must be organized and able to handle multiple tasks
- Experience in use of Computerized Management Systems (SAP, MS Office)
