Description:
This role is accountable for providing web infrastructure support for intranet, extranet and internet web applications. Basic support will often include working with business partners/analysts to integrate 3rd party vended applications via IT Web Infrastructure's standard security practices and policies.
Responsibilities may include:
- Working with business partners and vendors to implement web application solutions
- Providing web infrastructure guidance throughout web application implementations
- Advocating and maintaining IT standards and processes where appropriate to improve the environment
- Maintaining skills necessary to support highly secure extranet web environments
- Ensuring a large number of web servers stay in strict security compliance
- Delivering daily operational support of all web environments while working on several project initiatives
Basic/Required:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Intermediate knowledge with installing, configuring and troubleshooting IIS (6 and 7.x)
- Intermediate level of knowledge regarding configuring and administrating multiple .NET framework versions
- 1+ years of Windows (2003/2008) Server support experience
- Intermediate knowledge of the following basic server support concepts: application/performance troubleshooting, server application installations, configuring IIS security settings and implementing GPOs (group policy objects) related to server security settings
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or IT related technical education
- 3+ years of IIS Web server administration experience
- Technical problem solving skills, self-motivated with the ability to provide afterhours support
- Apache, Websphere, and JBOSS administration experience
- Microsoft Active Directory administrative experience
- Basic understanding of GPOs and how they relate to web server security and performance
- 1+ years of .NET (3.51/4.0) development experience
- Team Foundation Server administration experience
- Good communication skills for when working with non-technical users
- Apache reverse proxy server and Tomcat web application support experience
- Scripting experience with VBScript, JavaScript, PowerShell and WMI
- Experience with basic authentication and Kerberos methodologies regarding web site security and encryption
- Internet Explorer web browser knowledge including application compatibility modes and SSL
- VB or PowerShell scripting experience with the ability to script simple web server administrative tasks
- Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments.
