Systems Software Manager
Global Engineering Services is looking for an experienced Software Manager who can hit the ground running with our experienced, global team of developers and architects. Candidate needs to have expertise in design, architecture and integration to build our next generation factory tools and to drive continual improvements into our existing software. Strong leadership and strategic skills for the full software development life cycle. This development requires both strong software development skills and PC hardware skills to develop the best possible solution. The successful candidate will develop large mission critical applications that are deployed to all of HP’s world-wide factories.
The Enterprise Servers, Storage, Networking (ESSN) Supply Chain & Procurement organizations are counted as some of the largest in the world in terms of revenue, network, and spend. These groups balance volume and complexity across HP owned, and partner factories and suppliers, to bring advanced technology solutions such as servers, storage and networking together into one HP Converged Infrastructure. From traditional data centers and applications to the Cloud to new data center models such as the HP EcoPod, HP provides technology solutions and services that help customers solve their most challenging IT problems.
Key Responsabilities:
· Ability to lead a large team of software developers
· Excellent People and Program Management skills
· Proficient in current programming languages such as ASP.NET, C++, C#, Python, Perl or PHP
· Executive C-Level communication skills and ability to effectively work with development organizations throughout HP
· Proficient in written and spoken English
- First level university degree or equivalent experience required. May have advanced university degree.
- Minimum 5 or more years of related work experience, including 0 -2 years of people management experience.
- Experience in PC Hardware development, device drivers or firmware.
- International travel is required
- Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team-building, and conflict resolution.
- Advanced project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage human capital across geographies to drive workforce development and achieve desired results
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills
- Advanced business acumen, technical knowledge, and extensive knowledge in applications and technologies
- Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills
- Strong communication skills (e.g. written, verbal, presentation); mastery in English and local language
- Good understanding of HP's policies and processes
