POSITION PURPOSE

 

Assist Financial Analyst III with Accounts Payable and Purchasing activities and statistical reports.  Monitor and reconcile various accounts and assist in the preparation of financial statements and annual budgets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

In order of importance

1.     Perform a variety of routine accounting tasks.

2.     Monitor budget accounts and expenditures.

3.     Monitor standing orders and commitments for sufficient funds.

4.     Monitor grant accounts to ensure accuracy of budget assignments and expenditures.

5.     Reconcile various accounts and process invoice payments.

6.     Interact with faculty/staff on grant agency spending policies and procedures.

7.     Assist in preparing semi-monthly financial statements.

8.     Assist in preparing the annual budget.

9.     Prepare all deposits for external and internal funds received by the department.

10.  Maintain inventory of department office supplies.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis

 

Education:                     Associate degree in related field                                                        

 

Experience:                   2 years of relevant experience in educational or healthcare environment. Proficiency in Excel required                                       

 

Certifications/Licenses: None

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

 

Need to be detail-oriented and be able to identify and resolve problems.  A working knowledge of purchasing and financial activities is required.  Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and computer knowledge with proficiency in Excel and building spreadsheets.    Must be able to function in a professional and confidential manner with minimal supervision.
