The Senior Project Manager will join our OptumHealth Business Operations team. This position will primarily be responsible for supporting the expansion and innovation of an operational team and the tools that support their work, with the opportunity to gain high-level exposure by working with internal and external customers. Furthermore, this role will lead issue tracking and resolution.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manage issue resolution with internal teams and external issues.
- Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects across various functional areas.
- Work on development of process improvements.
- Provide subject matter expertise in areas including project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, facilitation, and other areas of expertise based on established project management techniques.
- Make presentations to management on project updates, project cycle, and expected results.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and in scope.
- May manage vendor and service providers to define project scope and performance expectations. - Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed.
- Work with less structured, more complex issues.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience Preferred
- 4+ years of project management experience required.
- Healthcare industry experience is required.
- Experience in tracking, planning projects, working with large data sets and making data-driven analytical decisions.
- Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Significant experience managing issue resolution is strongly preferred.
- Experience with external client facing and/or account management is desired.
