Description:
The Cook Inlet Inspection Coordinator position is an integral member of the ConocoPhillips Alaska (CPA) Integrity & Engineering (I&E) Asset & Operating Integrity (A&OI) group. This position reports directly to the North Slope-based Asset & Operating Integrity Superintendent. The primary roles of this position are creation, prioritization, and implementation of all required piping, tank, and vessel inspection activities contained in the Cook Inlet inspection program to maximize asset integrity, minimize personnel/HSE exposure, and ensure Company, State, and Agency compliance.
Responsibilities may include:
- Participate in behavior based safety programs and perform Proactive Safety Audits as needed
- Maintain compliance of all Company required safety and HSE training
- Perform comprehensive reviews of current and historical inspection data, and performance of “gap analysis” to determine future inspection needs
- Create, manage implementation of, and maintain program tracking of aggressive but achievable annual inspection goals/plans
- Prioritize, and re-prioritize as necessary, the performance of required annual inspections
- Direct various inspection and support personnel in their daily work assignments
- Develop and maintain corrosion inspection procedures and guidelines
- Perform reviews of all incoming inspection data to ensure accuracy, completion, inspection results, and potential work scope increases
- Manage damaged locations according to our established guidelines (verify Known Damage Recur status, initiate Corrosion Travelers, issue de-rate notifications, etc.)
- Create damage summary drawings as necessary
- Issue clear, concise inspection reports and repair recommendations as needed/requested
- Manage the verification of completed repairs to ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, drawing updates, etc.
- Coordinate special safety and/or permitting requirements as needed (confined space, etc.)
- Develop and coordinate “special” inspection projects as requested by Operations, and track same through completion and reporting
- Attend, participate and sometimes facilitate daily, weekly and unscheduled meetings
- Knowledge share within ConocoPhillips including participation in corporate Facilities Integrity Network of Excellence and other major North Slope working interest owners
- Demonstrate effective personal safety leadership
- Perform onsite inspection contractor oversight and management
Basic/Required:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- 3+ years of experience in oilfield inspection activities as an inspector
- Possess current valid API 570
- Possess or willing to obtain API 653 and Owner/User Certification within two years
- Current valid driver’s license
- Possess a TWIC card or are willing to obtain within the first month of employment
Preferred:
- Associate’s degree in a technical discipline
- Possess API 653 and Owner/User Certification
- Experience in tank and vessel experience
- 5+ years of experience in oilfield inspection activities as inspector (coordinator desired)
- NACE certifications (Technologist, Coatings, CP, etc.)
- Able to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) inspection goals, status, recommendations to higher ups, and various related tasks to assigned crews/groups
- Possess a strong working knowledge of the various NDE disciplines/techniques that are required by assigned crews and advantages/limitations of same
- Possess the necessary interpersonal skills to effectively relate to diverse workgroups in remote locations
- Possess the strong organizational skills necessary to accomplish a high level of multi-tasking
- Maintain flexibility and easily adjust to changes in work scope and/or timing
- Highly goal oriented, self-motivated, and able to proceed on assigned tasks with minimal supervision
- Proficient with Windows based programs
- Able to coordinate Cook Inlet inspection program goals with the combined overall A&OI goals
- Strong background in interpretation of construction/pipeline drawings (ISO, P&ID, CADD, etc.)
- Transmits information so it is received and understood in the way it was intended
- Responds resourcefully, flexibly and positively when faced with challenges and demands
