Shaw AREVA MOX Services, LLC is a consortium of companies based in Aiken, SC and formed to advance the Department of Energy's mission to dispose of surplus weapon grade plutonium.  The plutonium is disposed of by mixing it with uranium and forming a mixed oxide (MOX) fuel for use in existing nuclear reactors. After the MOX fuel is irradiated in the reactor, the plutonium can no longer be used for nuclear weapons. AREVA Federal Services provides resources to MOX Services for the design, construction, licensing and operations of the MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF) to be built at the Savannah River Site.  Resources provided are in the following disciplines: Licensing, ES&H, Integrated Safety Analysis, QA, Engineering Assurance, Process Engineering, Systems Engineering, Design and Engineering (Structural, Electrical, I &C, Seismic, Nuclear Criticality, Piping, Mechanical, HVAC), Project Safety, Procurement, Project Controls, Software Design, Training, Records Management, Operations, and Information Technology.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
  
AREVA Federal Services LLC, a subsidiary of AREVA, is seeking a Designer IV.
 
The position will be responsible for the following:
  • Creating one-line, wiring and schematic diagrams development and cable raceway routing.
  • Support design of the MOX facility instrument systems.  It involves the ability to develop drawings of complex instrumentation and control schemes
  • Development of deliverable such as ;Panel Layouts, Bill of Materials, Internal and External connection diagrams, instrument plan drawings, Loop diagrams and instrument installation details
  • Cross discipline review of design documents and interface with the client and vendor:  reviewing work of fellow designers;  performing vendor submittal review and bid analysis and coordination of design with other disciplines.
  • Apply project design requirements to the electrical design including the NEC and various IEEE standards for design of Class 1E electrical/instrumentation systems for nuclear generation facilities.
  • Review Cable Block Diagrams and Cable Schedules for procedure compliance and completeness and work with other group to resolve any problems.
  • Assist others with discrepancies between PUDC and Elec/I&C design
  • Working with others in the group and with people from other groups to resolve any design issues that arise during the design.
  • Resolve construction restraints
