POSITION DESCRIPTION
AREVA Federal Services LLC, a subsidiary of AREVA, is seeking a Mechanical Assembly FIeld Engineer.
General
-
Assembly Field Engineer supports the Assembly Superintendents and the Assembly manager and is assigned specific process units

Verify compliance for assembly of process units in accordance with Engineering design packages

Coordinate final documentation packages.

Understands and adheres to all MOX Services and Assembly and Test Group procedures related to work

Ensures all work results, materials, processes, and final products meet quality specifications and are completed according to established requirements.

Fosters a mutually respectful work environment that encourages growth and teamwork with other departments.
Planning Phase
- Perform a constructability review of engineering document
- Identify Specific Inspection Points
- Provide input to schedule activities
- Provide progress updates
- Review material needs to support assembly
Assembly Phase
- Ensure assembly conformity with engineering drawings and specifications
- Coordinate Engineering Change Request (ECR) implementation with craft
- Assist general Foreman with planning, organization, scheduling, and support services
- Coordinate preparation of As-built drawings
- Prepare the Acceptance Package/Punchlist
- Serve as technical resource for the foreman to answer craft questions.

Shaw AREVA MOX Services, LLC is a consortium of companies based in Aiken, SC and formed to advance the Department of Energy's mission to dispose of surplus weapon grade plutonium. The plutonium is disposed of by mixing it with uranium and forming a mixed oxide (MOX) fuel for use in existing nuclear reactors. After the MOX fuel is irradiated in the reactor, the plutonium can no longer be used for nuclear weapons. AREVA Federal Services provides resources to MOX Services for the design, construction, licensing and operations of the MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF) to be built at the Savannah River Site. Resources provided are in the following disciplines: Licensing, ES&H, Integrated Safety Analysis, QA, Engineering Assurance, Process Engineering, Systems Engineering, Design and Engineering (Structural, Electrical, I &C, Seismic, Nuclear Criticality, Piping, Mechanical, HVAC), Project Safety, Procurement, Project Controls, Software Design, Training, Records Management, Operations, and Information Technology.

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 2-4 years of related work experience. May substitute a Bachelor's Degree in a non-technical discipline or Associates Degree in related field with a minimum of 4-6 years of related work experience or minimum 15 years experience in mechanical assembly for nuclear process equpiment in lieu of degree.
- Working knowledge of and experience with mechanical/electrical assembly, work control and materials management.
- Ability to fully understand work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lockout/tag-out policies and procedures.
- Ability to fully understand and interpret various mechanical and electrical documents, specifications, drawings, and schematics.

Experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting electrical assemblies associated with process unit assembly.

Minimum of six (6) years experience in electrical assembly for nuclear process equipment.

Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
