Description
The liquids-rich Permian Shale play in West Texas is a major greenfield development that represents one of ConocoPhillips’ most promising opportunities with >1 Billion barrels of resource potential and plans to drill approximately 2,200 wells and a capital layout of $22 Billion in the next 10 years. Typically, once a field is developed it becomes cost prohibitive to implement major upgrades; therefore, Permian Shale offers ConocoPhillips a rare and unique opportunity to implement modern smart field processes and solutions early in the life of the asset.
Reporting to the Operations Superintendent -IOC -Based out of the Midland Integrated Operations Center (IOC), the Experienced Operations Center - Operator is stationed to support the Permian Shale Asset (as a primary) in regards to Well monitoring, evaluation and Optimization via the various SCADA systems that the room supports. This position also requires attention to detail in assisting with management of the expanding involvement with regards to Tank Management and Logistics for hauling, gas-lift, water injection and ESP support. This position is required to have a good understanding of Facility process and artificial lift systems. This position is based out of the ConocoPhillips Midland TX office and requires little travel to the field but may be asked to travel to the field from time to time. This will be a rotator positon 7 on and 7 off which is subject to change upon business need. This position will be eligible for relocation.
Responsibilities may include:
- Review and manage the integrity of daily production reporting and efficiency reports
- Monitor daily production and identify production losses. Work with field MSO's to determine cause(s) of losses
- Responsible for coding of LPRS on all wells
- Initiate Production Loss Report to identify issues to be worked for an assigned area
- Send prioritized list to field MSO's by assigned area to be worked/resolved by field MSO's - this will also be used in identifying losses for coding in LPRS
- Develop and follow-up on action items driven from the IOC team, engineering and Operations
- Participate in Opportunity Management process
- Interact with field staff on a frequent basis (field visits required periodically)
- Coordinate and optimize production by way of adjusting set points and monitoring SCADA
- Communicate significant set point adjustments to the field and ensure lines of communication are open at all times
- Mentor field staff to interpret and analyze SCADA trending as well as SCADA logic for each operating area. This is to provide a consistent approach across the Mid-Continent BU
- Knowledge of all SCADA systems and the other various devices that are situated within the IOC (Cygnet server, XSPOC, ROIP communications, etc.)
- Ensure opportunities identified are captured and supported through logging critical activities (Field notes, Wellview, etc.)
- Through our various exposures to varied operating areas, identify "best practices" for addition to knowledge sharing
- Experience with plant and facility operations, monitorying and surveillance
- Contribute and support the Plunger lift operation, maintenance and optimization through identifying well candidates, enhanced monitoring and operation of new plunger wells
- Coordinating Tank hauling logistics with the field based service providers and identifying areas requiring Hauling Optimization
Basic/Required:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- 3+ years’ experience in the oil and gas industry
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and SCADA programs
Preferred:
- Bi-Lingual in Spanish and English
- Ability to troubleshoot SCADA systems, Oilwell Operations, and other PC based configurations such as XSPOC, wellview, etc.
- Proficient wit SAP and Access
- Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments
- Actively seeks out diverse people and organizations to collectively achieve business goals
- Transmits information so it is received and understood in the way it was intended
- Develops realistic plans needed to accomplish objectives and team goals
