Description
Reporting to the Regulatory Affairs Team Lead, the purpose of this position is to provide an accessible and responsive source of regulatory expertise to a wide cross section of workgroups in ConocoPhillips.
Responsibilities
- Provide regulatory expertise and guidance to various ConocoPhillips workgroups on requirements in British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan
- Build positive working relationships with various regulatory agencies and function as a liaison between these different agencies and ConocoPhillips personnel
- Work with other groups in the organization to develop and implement strategies and plans to meet new and emerging regulations and create internal procedures and policies
- Develop and implement regulatory training programs for ConocoPhillips personnel
- Assist ConocoPhillips workgroups in regulatory self disclosures, enforcement responses and appeals
- Write internal bulletins and tips on regulatory issues
- Represent ConocoPhillips on various industry working groups and committees to stay on top of and influence new and emerging regulations
- Assist ConocoPhillips workgroups with regulatory audit preparation and response development
- Provide guidance to ConocoPhillips workgroups on regulatory licensing and approvals
Basic/Required Qualifications
- 10 years experience in the oil and gas industry
- University degree
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and processes in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan
- Knowledgeable in field operations and other aspects of the oil and gas industry
- Able to work independently, as-well as in a team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research, analytical, and problem solving abilities
- Motivated self starter with demonstrated leadership ability
- Legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis without restrictions
