With the resources, reach, and expertise of a large pharmaceutical company, postdoctoral researchers will be positioned to excel in an institution committed to breakthrough innovation in research and discovery.
Position Overview:
The primary goal of this project is to gain a mechanistic understanding of the cellular and molecular mechanisms governing the fate and activity profile of multi-specific antibody modalities. This project will generate a novel systematic and mechanistic framework highly relevant and critical for successful design, selection and development of the next generation antibody-based therapeutics in MRL biologics pipeline.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop proficiency in all relevant in-house experimental in vitro and in vivo procedures including labeling techniques, use of specific tools, laboratory equipment, recombinant DNA technology, data gathering and analytical programs.
- Assessment of pharmacokinetic, metabolism and biodistributional properties (target-independent) and the impact of target/s expression on the fate of selected experimental constructs in relevant preclinical models.
- Evaluation of in vivo pharmacological activity profiles in relevant disease models with inclusion of appropriate design and controls to evaluate the synergistic activity properties of the multi-specific constructs in comparison to the relevant single agent and combination controls.
Education Minimum Requirement:
-
PhD in Biological Sciences
Required Experience and Skills:
-
PhD, or met all the requirements for a PhD by June 2015, with 3 years or less postdoctoral experience.
-
Experience with in vivo models in the following therapy areas: Infectious disease, Immunology.
-
Advanced cell and tissue culture skills, including growth of immune cells and T-cells.
-
Able to perform cellular immune function assays (i.e. proliferation/cytotoxicity/apoptosis assays).
-
Proficient in cell separation techniques and preparation for FACS sorting with strong experience in FACS analysis.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
-
Molecular biology, protein expression, purification, labeling techniques
-
Cell line engineering for assay development
-
